I am a Leather Smith based in Oceanside, California. I create small-batch, hand-made goods driven by an exploration of identity and the pursuit of improving my craft.

My family is from Jalisco, México, and from a young age, I saw how leather was synonymous with quality and culture. Charro saddles, cintos piteados, and botines were always in the backdrop of my childhood. I grew up in the United States, and here I was exposed to a different craft tradition: the western culture.

Through my work, I ask “what does it mean to be Mexican?” and “What does it mean to be “American”?. In each collection, I combine both of these worlds to create one-of-a-kind items that honor both traditions while creating something entirely new.
